Chicken owners make woolly jumpers for former battery

These chickens are sporting custom made jumpers, designed to keep former battery hens warm in winter

How do you stop a hen from becoming a frozen chicken? Give it a woolly jumper. 

The knitwear was provided by 25-year-old Nicola Congdon, inset, and her mother Ann, 58, of Falmouth, Cornwall.

The former battery birds had previously pulled out some of their feathers after becoming stressed by their cramped conditions.
And it seems they aren't the only birds in need of a cosy knit.
Nicola is now getting requests from around the world to buy her products which she makes in her kitchen.
